Excavated, Double Barrel Boot Pistol from Perryville, MOLLUS Collection - Inventory Number: REL 101 / SOLD

Double barrel percussion boot pistol dug in Perryville, Kentucky. The pistol measures 6” in length and is stable condition and coated for preservation. It was once part of the collection of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States. MOLLUS is a patriotic order, organized April 15, 1865, by three veteran officers of the Army. The original membership was composed of members of the Army, Navy, or Marine Corps of the United States, who had served during the American Civil War as commissioned officers in Federal service, or who had served and thereafter been commissioned, and who thereby "had aided in maintaining the honor, integrity, and supremacy of the national movement" during the Civil War. An excellent relic from the Battle of Perryville.
