Federal Artillery button, eagle with "A" in shield, two part button, hat or sleeve size.
Button was intended for artillery and depicts eagle with "A" in the shield, generally for officers. This die pattern features eagle facing right. Backmark: "HORSTMANN & SONS / (dot) PHI (dot)" rmdc on a stippled channel.  Shank is slight bend.
