Excellent Pair of Civil War Officer’s Cavalry Boots - Inventory Number: UNI 193
An exceptional pair of original Civil War officer’s knee-high cavalry boots, crafted of fine black leather and exhibiting the classic square toe and scalloped top edge typical of mid-19th century military fashion. These boots remain in outstanding condition, with a strong form, supple leather, and minimal wear consistent with careful use and preservation. Stitching is tight and intact, and the soles retain good definition, making them an ideal display piece.
Likely worn by a mounted Union officer, this style was favored for both function and fashion—offering protection while riding and projecting a refined military bearing. Rarely encountered in such fine and complete condition, these boots would make a superb addition to any advanced Civil War or 19th-century militaria collection.
Condition: Excellent; leather remains supple with strong surface; minor scuffing from age, but no major cracks, tears, or separations. From a respected private collection; typical of officer-grade field equipment used between 1861–1865.
