    U.S. Army Model 1851 Officer’s Sword Belt Complete with Over-the-Shoulder Strap - Inventory Number: BEL 585

    A fine original example of the Model 1851 U.S. officer’s sword belt, complete with its rarely encountered over-the-shoulder support strap. Crafted from bridle leather, the belt features the regulation rectangular brass plate with a spread-winged eagle clutching arrows and olive branches, laurel wreath below, and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” banner above. The plate is mated to its original matching keeper.

    Leather belt stamped “with  S's and marker marked.

    A scarce, complete Model 1851 officer’s sword belt — especially notable for retaining the full over-the-shoulder strap.
