Federal Officer Button - Inventory Number: BUT 171 / Sold

Federal officer button, eagle with shield, three part button, coat size.  

Button was intended for officers, depicting patriotic symbolism of eagle grasping arrows for war and olive branch for peace. Backmark: "EXTRA / (star) QUALITY (star)" dm, between two rings of dots, solid inner ring, depression around the shank, bottom of "Q" is distinctly seperated from outer ring, used on staff coat size buttons only.
