G.A.R. Medal

G.A.R. Medal - Inventory Number: VET 150

51st Encampment Department of Illinois.  1916 Delegate.    

Two piece medal.  Top bar has a pin on the back and scrollwork design, that reads, "REPRESENTATIVE".  Red, white, and blue ribbon with an ancho, cannon, and a rifle at the bottom.  Inscribed around the edge is "W.F. Calhoun" , "Department Commander"  the circular medal depicts the likeness of Calhoun.  Reverse is inscribed 51st Annual Encampment Department of Illinois G.A.R. Bloomington, Ill June 6-7-8 1917.  In excellent condition.  Overall length approximately 4 inches.
