Gen. Bradley Tyler Johnson, C.S.A. (1829-1903) from Maryland - Inventory Number: CDV 546
He was born in Frederick City, Maryland. Graduate of Princeton in 1849. Finished his legal degree at Harvard. Admitted to the bar in 1851. A delegate to the National Democratic Convention at Baltimore in 1860. He withdrew from the convention and united with the Southern wing of the party, which supported Breckinridge and Lane. At his expense he organized and equipped his own company and took an active part in forming the 1 Maryland Infantry, CSA. Eventually became commander of the "Maryland Line." Died in Amelia, Virginia. Buried in Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, Maryland.
