Gettysburg Recovered Michigan Button - Inventory Number: GET 327 / SOLD

Relic example with large push in face, retains a good portion of the original gold gilt.  This button depicts the state seal of Michigan button, an elk, moose and an eagle, with a hunter inside the shield, intended for officers of Michigan militia units. Backmark: "SCOVILL MF'G CO,/ WATERBURY." dm between two rings of dots. Three-piece officer staff button, coat size.  Shank remains. Recovered in the 1960’s from a local collection.  Comes with Certificate of Authenticity.
