New York at Gettysburg Medal 1913 - 50th Anniversary Gettysburg Medal. Bronze medal commemorating the Battle of Gettysburg "1863-1913." The largest combined reunion of Civil War veterans ever held occurred at Gettysburg in 1913. This medal, 2¾" in length, features a circular bronze relief of Generals Meade and Lee at center mounted to four bars with flag and shields resting on crossed swords at either side. The other two bars bear military symbols. The medal is suspended beneath a bronze badge with oval relief of Confederate and Union soldier clasping hands affixed to bar with "1863" at left and "1913" at right. Scroll beneath is incused "New York-Gettysburg." Clasp is a period replacement.
Comes housed in a display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
