Gettysburg Souvenir Postcard Charge of the Louisiana Tiger's Second Day's Battle - Inventory Number: GSO 058 / SOLD
The storming of Cemetery Hill by Hay's and Hoke's Confederate brigades on the evening of July 2nd, 1863 proved to be an awful hand-to-hand struggle. Rammers, hand spikes, and even stones were used. The "Tigers" were practically annihilated. They advanced 1700 strong and retired with less than 500. Framed and used, postmarked "Gettysburg April 1, 1922".
