Rare, gold-plated pre-war South Carolina had pin in the form of a palmetto tree flanked by the ellipses of the state seal and the date “1776.” Stamped brass with four soldered brass wire attachment devices on the back. The pin measures 3 ¼” by 1 ¾”. A rare antebellum South Carolina hat device in mint condition.
Comes housed in an 8 x 12 inch display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
