Wonderful and unique image of a young man wearing the classic “Cap and Gown” with a star on the cape.  His cap features a gold gilded sunburst.  Amid his lap is an 1840’s officer’s pattern sword with an apple shaped guard.  Likely a graduation day image from an institution with military ties such as Yale or Harvard. Scarce!
