Identified Canteen / Sold

This militia style drum canteen was purchased from the estate of Lawrence Ready of the 2nd GA Battalion of Sharpshooters.  The canteen measures: 6 ¼” x 1 7/8”.  Constructed of tinned iron, with two flat sides, one side is painted green as well the center pieces.  The original sling is present.  The owner’s initials “L.R.” are nicely incised on the bottom of the strap.
