Pewter collapsible cup with original japanned tin case. When collapsed this ingenious cup device consists of a pewter case with three separate metal bands, each slightly larger than the next. When used for drinking, the outer bands are extended up to form a watertight metal cup that measures 3 1/4" inch high. Paper tag which accompanies the cup reads: Drinking Cup carried during the War of the Rebellion by Lt. John Clark, 144th Inf. Regmt.”.
