Identified Regulation Union Army Blanket - Inventory Number: PER 438
This brown woolen Army blanket has the stenciled label of David B. Miller, Lewisburg, Pa. sewed to the inside edge. Pvt. Miller was a member of the 110th Pa. Vol. Inf. Co. "B". He enlisted 11 September 1861 at Mapleton Depot, Huntington Township, Luzerne County, Pa. He served three years and was discharged 24 October 1864 at Petersburg, Va. after being engaged in thirteen battles from
Winchester, Va. in March 1862 to Petersburg, Va.
June 16-18, 1864. Pvt. Miller removed a circular section of the blanket between the "U" and "S" so that that he could wear it as a poncho. The blanket is about 68"x 68" indicating that about 12" was removed from the one end.)
