Dixon Flask - Inventory Number: FIR 121
Large flask by James Dixon & Sons of Sheffield, England. Dixon was a major maker of flasks and accouterments during the mid-19th century and the flasks, oilers and other gun accessories made by the firm are ubiquitous in cased English firearms sets. The flask is topped by a removable charge cap and adjustable measure. The top of the charger cap is marked in three lines:
“JAMES DIXON / & SONS / SHEFFIELD”
The adjustable charger offers four different powder charge dram increments and is clearly marked DRAM on the spout.
