Ca. 1853. Content regards, then Captain Longstreet of the 8th Infantry Brevet Major writing to Colonel S. Thomas, to request a leave of absence for "Important Private Business". Also includes an engraving from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper of Lieutenant-General Longstreet. Frame measures 20 3/4" x 10 3/4".
