State seal husbandman and seaman with white pine, officer staff, Scovill MFG, dm, (14.89mm)  Button depicts the state seal of Main, the north star with a husbandman and seaman standing beside a white pine, intended for officers of Maine militia units surrounded by ring of stars.  MAINE written in a banner below.  Backmark: "SCOVILL MF'G. CO./ WATERBURY" dm with an inner dotted ring.  Three part high convex officer staff button, coat size.
