Massachusetts Regimental Button, New England Guard "NEG",  R & W Robinson on ribbon, (21mm)  Button depicts raised "NEG", on lined field.  The New England Guard was formed about 1812, enjoyed a long tradition from Boston Mass, was organized into the 24th Mass Infantry and served with distinction.  Backmark:  "R & W. ROBINSON" dm on a ribbon reading counter clockwise, eagle between the ends. Two part convex button, coat size.
