Dark brown leather coin purse embossed with a liberty head on one side and a federal eagle with “E Pluribus Unum” on the other. The purse unlatches to reveal four compartments made from Moroccan leather, containing two Matron Head large cents, a Braided Hair large cent, a Seated Liberty dime, two 1870s issue fractional currency bills, and a newspaper clipping advertising India rubber gloves. There is an ink inscription inside the purse that is illegible. The purse measures 4” by 2 ½”. A nice representative example of a period coin purse.
