Model 1850 Non-Regulation Staff and Field Officer's Sword - Inventory Number: SWO 109 / SOLD
Scarce brass mounted example with awesome patriotic guard with an American Eagle and cut-out letter "U.S." and "E. Pluribus Unum" hand stamped into the ribbon. Note the backwards "S". The blade is excellent and retains a strong trace of its original frosting. The bright blade which measures 32", features "Tiffany" style panels with eagle with engraved U.S. on chest and fancy "U.S." with scrolls etched on blade panels. Ricasso is boldly marked "Solingen" with brass inlay proof on reverse. The brass mounted steel scabbard retains a rich brownish finish. Hard to find a prettier example!
