Scarce cartridge box for the Model 1855 Pistol Carbine, a Maynard-primed, .58 caliber single-shot pistol with detachable shoulder stock that was issued to cavalry troopers. The cartridge box is in very good condition with light crazing in areas, complete with both original tins, inner flap, implement pouch, brass finial, and belt loops. The body of the box measures 6 3/8” by 3 ¾”. A fine example of one of the more difficult Civil War era cartridge boxes to obtain.
