Model "1858 Smooth-Side" Canteen / Sold

Classic issued Canteen for the American Civil War.  This example retains its original blue wool cover with soiling due to use and exposure to the elements.  The body of the canteen is strong with a few dents from use.  The spout bears the original owner's initial "G.A.S" carved in the pewter surface.  The original chain and stopper device are present, lacking cork.
