Model 1858 Smooth Side Canteen / SOLD

Complete model 1858 smooth side canteen with brown jean cover, stopper, and cotton sling. The cover on this canteen is in excellent condition with no holes or tears. The narrow strap loops, rolled tin spout, and 1” cork with square washer identify this example as a Cincinnati Depot canteen from 1863-1865. The initials “W.R.” are scratched into the spout and one of the tin strap looks. An excellent Civil War Canteen.
