Model 1858 Smooth Side Canteen / SOLD

Civil War U.S. issued smooth side canteen. This example has the jute chord that once attached to the stopper, which is typical of canteens issued by the Cincinnati Depot. The canteen retains its original brown jean wool cover. One sling loop is missing.  The original carrying strap is still present and complete. A classic and representative Civil War canteen that shows honest use.
