"6 N.H. INF" Marked Model 1858 US Smooth Side Canteen / SOLD

Classic Civil War US issued smooth side canteen. This one is complete with all three strap loops. One of the loops has a hole punched in it for the stopper chain, which is typical of New York Depot canteens. The pewter spout is marked “6 N.H. INF,” a hard fighting regiment that served three years in the Army of the Potomac. The canteen has light rust in places and the typical dings and dents from service. A nice representative example.
