Excavated lock from a Model 1861 Rifle Musket, consisting of a lock plate with all internal mechanics and the date “1864” still visible on the face. The hammer is present but separated from the lock. The iron is stable and has been coated for preservation. A must-have addition to a dug Civil War relic collection.
