Molding from the Rebel Flag of Truce Boat – Inventory Number: CON 557
"Piece of molding taken from the Rebel Flag of Truce boat at Charleston, S.C. Dec. 10, 1864 when being exchanged." - Written in Nice Dark Period Ink on the Back of a 2 ½ x 3-inch Piece of Gold Gilted Wood.
If you enjoy Civil War relics with original ink tags, this relic will get your heart beating.
The Confederate Flag of Truce boat was very significant in transporting prisoners that had been paroled from the Charleston area prisons. While we do not know the name of the prisoner being exchanged, it is obvious that he wanted to save a souvenir from that memorable day! Condition is excellent, with significant gold paint still remaining on the front. A great item for display.
Comes housed in 8 x 12 riker display case with red velvet and descriptive card.
