Musician Sword with Leather Scabbard

The model 1840 musician sword was intended for musicians and were ceremonial in purpose, being worn by the musicians during drill and formations.  The sword could be used in a fight, but only as a weapon of last resort. Manufactured by Horstmann & Son Philadelphia Pa.  Standard features include: all brass handle, grip gives the appearance of wire wrap but its integral with the handle, hilt is single branch.  Scabbard is leather with brass mountings and initials "BA".
