Scarce example of the New York issued state seal insignia. Issued for use on the forage cap, this insignia is encountered on cap boxes, cartridge boxes and other accoutrement of the war. The reverse retains a pair of brass loops for affixing held fast by original oxidized lead solder.
Comes housed in 6 inch x 8 inch riker display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
