North Carolina State Seal coat size button with punched through shank. This button retains a beautiful crisp stamping of the state seal of North Carolina with a hint of silver gilt still left. Absolute beauty of a button! Shank is present.
Button features "NC" surrounded by a sunburst, made for North Carolina troops. One-piece stamped brass coat button. Measures 22mm. No back mark. Unknown if the shank is present due to being mounted. This pattern features seven rays. "NC" encircled on a lined background, sunrays on a stippled background
Button card was de-accessed from the “The National Civil War Life Museum” of Fredericksburg, VA which featured thousands of items pertaining to the daily life of the Civil War Soldier and the era.
