Piece of Professor Lowe's Balloon " Enterprise" - Inventory Number: CON 504 / SOLD

Piece of Professor Lowe's balloon " Enterprise". Picked up by Lt. S Millett Thompson of the 13 New Hampshire Infantry, who was severely wounded June 15, 1864, at the attack on Battery Five, Petersburg, Virginia. Lt. Thompson would survive the war and wrote of the history of his regiment.
