Pair of leather pommel holsters for single shot U.S. martial pistols, circa 1830-1850. Each holster measures 13” long and is made of heavy-duty leather capped with a brass cylinder at the muzzle end. A large leather flap covers each holster; each flap has supple leather with moderate crazing and some tears. The leather strap connecting the holsters appears to be a later replacement that is riveted and sewn in place. These would display well with a saddle or pre-Civil War US. Martial pistol.
