Projectile Struck Cartridge Box Plate Recovered from the Pry Farm Antietam Maryland - Inventory Number: BEL 496
This excavated U.S. Cartridge Box plate was recovered from the historic Pry Farm on the Antietam Battlefield. There is a clear indentation from a small projectile strike which has pushed the lead fill outward. The ball accompanying the plate is for display and not the actual striking projectile. The lead back is complete the iron loops are lacking, the relic hunter has cleaned the face.
The plate was purchased by our gallery from the son of the relic hunter when he passed and is accompanied by copies of the history of the Pry Farm and its significance during the Battle of Antietam.
Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with red velvet and descriptive card.
