McClellan on horseback with cap in hand at his side. From an original drawing by Felix Octavius Carr Darley and sculpted by John Quincy Adams Ward, patented Jan. 5th,1864 Ward had a studio in New York City starting in 1861 and was elected President of the National Academy of Design in 1862 serving in the position until 1874. He is especially noted for his equestrian statues and produced this striking piece from a painting by F.O.C. Darley. Measures approximately 9 ½” x 10”.
