Mid-19th century folding pocketknife marked “George Wostenholm/Sheffield” on the ricasso. Knifemaker George Wostenholm manufactured knives marked “IXL” in Sheffield, England since 1831. This example has a thick hardwood grip and a downturned blade The overall length of the knife unfolded in 7 ½”. A well-made Civil War period knife.
