Naval Officer with Painted Patriotic Backdrop - Sold

Young naval officer wearing a nine-button frock with embroidered stars on each cuff.  His belt is mounted with the Navy officer’s belt plate, and the model 1852 U.S.N. officer’s sword.  A finely detailed painted camp scene is in the background, note the palm tree and U.S. flag.  Housed in an original gutta-percha case with geometric design.
