South Carolina State Seal Coat Button - Inventory Number: BUT 313

Albert's SC 13 A6 Confederate Civil war South Carolina militia 23 mm coat button c. 1860. This button has a rmdc blank depressed channel. This button was made by Scovill MFG co for the South Carolian militia near the beginning of the Civil War and Scovill (a northern company) used this blank backmark instead of placing its normal company backmark on the back of the button.

Button card was de-accessed from the “The National Civil War Life Museum” of Fredericksburg, VA which featured thousands of items pertaining to the daily life of the Civil War Soldier and the era.
