Star Cape Pin and Chain - Inventory Number: REL 109 / SOLD
Excavated brass cape pin and chain. Although not actually a “pin,” but a chain connected two such pieces and was run through buttonholes to hold a cape closed. These are found in a variety of shapes and busts of popular personalities. This example is a star approximately 1” across.
This “pin” is cast brass and has a tall shank on the reverse, the chain is strong and articulates, the other end lacks a toggle. Overall, a very nice “dug” condition with even patina. Recovered from camp site in Stafford, VA
Comes housed in 6 inch x 8 inch riker display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
