State of New York Cartridge Box Plate - Inventory Number:  BEL 403 / SOLD

Non-excavated State of New York cartridge box plate. This example is the thin-letter variant purchased by the state in 1865-1865. Examples have been excavated from the Wilderness battlefield and other 1864-1864 sites. This style is listed as plate 550 in American Military Belt Plates by Michael J. O’Donnell and J. Duncan Campbell. In very good, uncleaned condition with a small ding on the “N” and both hooks intact on the reverse. 

Comes housed in a 6 x 8 inch display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
