Historic offering of a small “Piece of cloth from the sleeve of Genl. Stonewall Jackson’s coat worn when he received his mortal wound at Chancellorsville, VA. May 3rd 1863. From Major W.T. Dix Feb. 1st-1897.”
Major William Talcott Dix served as a private in the Civil War with the 1st Battalion of Maryland Cavalry. He was actively involved with the United Confederate Veterans where he received the rank of Major which is notated on the provenance card.
A very significant historical offering.
Comes housed in 12 x 8 riker display case with black velvet and descriptive card.
