Traveling Inkwell / SOLD

Traveling Inkwell - Inventory Number: CAM 283  / SOLD

Inkwell made from a very hard wood known as lignum vitae. Due to the small size, they were often carried by Civil War soldiers which dates them to approximately the 1860's. This inkwell measures 2 inches tall by 1 3/8 inches in diameter. Ink is contained in a glass cylinder within, kept secure via a spring when the lid is screwed on tight.
