Unique Civil War Tintype Recovered from the Battlefield of Cumberland Gap - Inventory Number: ALB 313

The rarity of a tin type of fruit in itself is 10 out of 10 but combined with being recovered from the battlefield as a relic. This is about as unique as one could ask for. The original Album page features a pencil inscription which states “ found a Cumberland gap supposed by a N.Y. regiment”

A wonderful CDV size 10 type featuring a table dressed in fancy linen, displaying a wooden vessel of assorted fruit, which has been painstakingly tinted.
