This is a nicely marked original Civil War
naval artillery fuse box. This is the leather pouch that went on the side of
the Civil War naval artilleryman. It held his paper time fuses for firing the
cannon shells. The bottom of
the box has the brass finial. On the back of the box is the original
leather belt loop solidly intact. Interior of the box has been modified possibly for subsequent use. This will make a fine addition for a naval or
artillery collector.
