Interesting make-do cane or corn knife. It is marked “Atkins-Silver Steel” at the tip of the blade and was likely fashioned from one of that company’s hand saws. The blade remains sharp and is crudely mounted in a turned wood tool grip. The scabbard is wood and appears to be handmade, with a leather washer nailed to the throat and the scabbard painted black. The knife measures 20” in total length. A unique hand fashioned tool that evokes the old south.
