Virginia State Seal Button - Inventory Number: CON 301 / SOLD

Non-excavated, pre-war 23mm Virginia State Seal coat button. The face depicts the Virginia state seal with Virtus slaying the tyrant and “Sic Semper Tyrannis.” Highly detailed die strike with a nice amount of gilt remaining in the recessed areas of the face. The button retains the shank and has the backmark “Scoville MFG. CO/ WATERBURY.” A classic Confederate button with a pleasing look. 

Comes housed in a 5 x 6 inch display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
