Waybill of the Mississippi River Steamer, "Golden Age", bound for New Orleans with Cotton - Inventory Number: DOC 211 / SOLD
When War came, "Golden Age", and other commercial steamers were pressed into Confederate service. On July 27th 1862, Golden Age, heavy and loaded with troops, was sunk by Union Gunboats with great loss of life.
