This gavel is a wonderful and unique artifact which was: “Presented to Vice President Spiro Agnew in 1969-Made From ‘Fort Prince George’ Mulberry tree near Pickens, S.C.- 23 Cherokee Indians were executed on this tree - We speak English today because of Fort Prince George. General Andrew Pickens grave in Old stone church churchyard here in Pickens county. It is a mile below Clemson University, South Carolina."
