Rare Mounted Rifle Officer’s Hat Insignia - Inventory Number: INS 388

This scarce “false embroidered” elongated bugle device used by the Mounted Rifle Corps in the years before the Civil War and into the War's early years.  The insignia retains nearly a nice tone of gold gilt finish and is constructed of stamped brass with oxidized lead solder affixing a trio of brass wires for attaching to the hat.

Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with red velvet and descriptive card.
