    1850 New Testament ID’d to Jacob J. Schuring 2nd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery - Inventory Number: IDE 148 / SOLD

    Pocket sized New Testament with pencil inscription on the last page that reads “this book was in the Civil War with Jacob Schuring, my mother bro. he was 17 when he enlisted.” Jacob J. Schuring enlisted in February 1864 as a private in the 2nd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery and was discharged for disability in August 1864. He was engaged with his regiment at The Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, and Petersburg. The Testament has the additional names of other family members throughout and is in well used condition with a strong binding. A fine addition to a collection of soldier’s personal affects. 

    Jacob J. Schuring - Enlisted on 2/26/1864 as a Private. On 2/26/1864 he mustered into "B" Co. PA 2nd Heavy Artillery. He was discharged for disability on 8/4/1865.
